Travel diaries: The Middle East
Throughout his adventures, Tintin often found himself in the Middle East or Maghreb, in countries like Morocco or Egypt, which still exist today, or in places created by Hergé's imagination, such as Khemed, for example. Although those countries are imaginary, Hergé gave us clues as to their real identity. For example Djebel in The Red Sea Sharks can easily be identified as Jordan thanks to the appearance of the Petra site. The fact that he sent Tintin to this region four different times shows how much he was interested in that part of the world.
